50 Years and Counting:
Christian Arts, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1955 by the late Metropolitan Opera bass Jerome Hines, seeks to enrich the performing arts experience of the classic vocal and instrumental arts to reach diverse secular and faith-based performing arts audiences worldwide through theatrical, concert, and educational opportunities. It stands as a bridge between traditional and modern music genres in the the Christian faith community to provide live theatrical, concert and educational experiences to showcase new and old international compositions outside the traditional repertoire. At the height of its activity,in the 60’s to 80’s, CAI chapters called Jerry’s Angels across America and in Germany that collaborated with local arts organizations to hold festivals built around performances of the founder’s opera and educational concert lectures.
